Definition

  • The 3-item Transportation Security Index is a concise, validated survey tool that efficiently measures transportation insecurity-helping organizations identify and address barriers to safe and timely mobility at the individual level. The index can be used to assign respondents a continuous score representing their level of transportation insecurity or to categorize respondents as experiencing no insecurity or insecurity that is marginal, low, moderate, or high.
