- A dental panoramic radiograph is a wide-angle, two-dimensional view of the mandible that spans from ear to ear and includes the lower and upper jaw. It is a form of tomography in which images of multiple planes are taken to make up the composite panoramic image. Trade names include Panorex and Orthopantomograph.
