Definition
- This test is intended to be used as a primary screening test for the diagnosis of infection with Treponema pallidum, the causative agent for Syphilis. This test has been approved by the FDA for the screening of donors of human cells, tissues and tissue-based products (HCT&P's). A positive RPR test result is indicative of an acute or chronic infection with T.pallidum, and may be used to disqualify a potential cell or tissue donor
