aPTT.factor sensitive in Platelet poor plasma by Coagulation assay
aPTT-FS PPP
Definition
- Factor substitution aPTT assays may be used to investigate prolonged conventional aPTT results. Factor substitution reagents are sensitive to deficiencies in factor VIII, IX, XI and XII. If the factor substitution aPTT result is prolonged, then further testing, including individual assays for each factor, are performed to determine the specific etiology of the clotting disorder.
