aPTT in Platelet poor plasma by Coagulation assay -- after addition of protein C activator + Factor V depleted plasma/aPTT

aPTT protein C activator+FV DP/aPTT PPP

Definition

  • The protein C pathway the patient's protein C is activated by agkistrodon contortrix (Protac[TM]). Then, an aPTT or DVVR-based coagulation is started. These tests should screen the protein C pathway covering protein C defects, protein S defects and Factor V Leiden mutations. Used in combination with factor V deficient plasma these tests can specifically detect problems with factor V.
