Definition
- CV2 IgG in cerebrospinal fluid (CFS) can be detected by western blot assays and is highly recommended for evaluating patients with subacute unexplained basal ganglionic disorders (chorea/Parkinsonism hemi-ballismus), cranial neuropathies (particularly loss of vision, smell or taste), myelopathies, and radiculoplexopathies. CV2-IgG is also a sensitive confirmatory marker for thymoma and lung carcinoma (SCLC-small cell lung carcinomas).
