Definition
- Chromium levels are used to evaluate industrial toxicity, suspected toxicity, or in conjuction with serum levels to detect chromium deficiency. Urine chromium levels are correlated with glucose metabolism. Diabetic patients lose threefold more chromium in the urine than nondiabetic patients. The main secretory pathway for chromium is renal.
