Power setting Ventilator

Power setting Vent

Definition

  • On a High Frequency Oscillator Ventilator (and perhaps other High-frequency ventilators), this setting controls the amplitude, or peak inspiratory pressure of the ventilator. This is typically a numeric value, with lower values having less power than higher values. The value does not directly relate to any particular measured entity, but is more like numbers on a volume knob on a radio. This knob controls a speaker-like device on many high-frequency ventilators. The numbers are arbitrary indicators between the minimum possible and the maximum values possible.
