Head control - supported sitting [TIMP]

Definition

  • Position: Infant is held upright in vertical sitting on a support surface, facing the examiner, supported at shoulders with upper arms held at sides of trunk. Procedure: Observe position and movement of infant's head. If head deviates laterally from midline more than 15 degrees, give the next lower score. If achieves rating of 4, reduce stimulation to allow free movement of head.
