Definition

  • The number of times a patient is able to stand from a sitting position in 30 seconds. This test is performed to assess lower body strength. Typically a chair with seat height at 17", a straight back and without arm rests is used.[PMID: 10380242] [https://www.cdc.gov/steadi/pdf/STEADI-Assessment-30Sec-508.pdf] To report the patient's results for the modified version of the 30 second sit to stand (m30sSTS) test where the patient uses their upper arms for support, use Modified 30s Sit to Stand w extremities [LOINC: 93125-3].
