Inulin renal clearance/1.73 sq M in Urine and Serum or Plasma

Inulin Cl/1.73 sq M Ur+SerPl-ArVRat

Definition

  • Inulin is measured to evaluate kidney function by determining the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) -- the flow rate of filtered fluid through the kidney. Inulin is completely filtered at the glomerulus, allowing the clearance of inulin to be used as a highly accurate measure of GFR. The submitter laboratory's testing approach is to collect samples every 30 minutes up to 240 minutes after an 18 hour infusion with inulin (long test) or after an initial bolus injection (short test).
