Definition

  • The bilirubin excess is the most sophisticated parameter to exclude subarachnoidal hemorrhage in patient with negative cranial CT scan. The diagnosis is also dependent on the amount of oxyhemoglobin, methemoglobin and possibly xanthochromia present in CSF.
