Definition
- Elevated vaginal fluid pH (>4.5) combined with clinical symptoms are used to diagnose infections such as bacterial vaginitis (BV) or trichomoniasis. Elevated vaginal fluid pH (>6.5) during pregnancy may indicated the membrane of the amniotic sac has ruptured.
