Definition

  • Using light microscopy, semen and prostatic fluid often contains 'anucleate bodies', sometimes as the most prevalent non-sperm component of semen. The anucleate bodies are generally considered a biproduct of spermatogenesis, resulting from the shedding of excess cytoplasm by spermatozoa.
