Definition

  • Phospholipase A2 Receptor (PLA2R) antibodies in human serum can be quantitatively measured in relative units (rU) by immunoassays. Such antibodies are found in patients with idiopathic membranous glomerulonephritis (MGN) but not in patients with secondary glomerulonephritis. The test is used to differentiate these two conditions.
