Definition

  • The newborn screening test results panel - point of care covers screening that is done at the bedside prior to the infant's discharge from the hospital. Whereas most newborn screening tests are run on dried blood spots, two (hearing screening and critical congenital heart disease screening) are done as point-of-care tests.
