Perfusion index Blood Preductal Pulse oximetry

Perfusion index Bld Preductal PulseOx

Definition

  • The perfusion index measures the strength of the pulse and is the ratio of the pulsatile and nonpulsatile components of the pulse oximetry signal. Preductal measurement indicates that the measurements are taken using a pulse oximetry device placed in an anatomical location whose blood supply originates from the aorta before the junction of the aorta with the ductus arteriorsus (usually the right hand).
