Definition
- Screening for bacteria resistant to fluoroquinolone may be performed using a rectal swab plated onto a culture medium (e.g. MacConkey agar). Any bacterial growth will be identified and full susceptibility performed. This is for infection control purposes to know if a patient needs to be on contact isolation.
