Definition

  • Qualitative screening for oxycodone in meconium specimens may be performed to detect maternal drug use (e.g. OxyContin) during pregnancy. Results depend on the amount and quality of the specimen as well as the pattern and frequency of drug(s) used by mother. Drug abuse during pregnancy is associated with significant perinatal complications.
