Definition
- Qualitative detection of human Arbovirus IgM antibodies to clinically relevant mosquito-borne viruses, including Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), St. Louis Encephalitis (SLE), Western Equine Encephalitis (WEE), and California Encephalitis (CE) group viruses. Testing is performed to identify sero-conversion in acute and convalescent specimens and as an aid in the diagnosis of current or past infection. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the submitter's reporting style for Focus Diagnostics' Arbovirus IgM Indirect Immunofluorescent Antibody (IFA) assay.
