Definition

  • Testing for aromatic (hydrocarbon) solvents comprised wholly or primarily of aromatic hydrocarbon compounds is performed to determine occupational or environmental exposure to toxins. The submitted lab tests for 2-Methylpentane, 3-Methylpentane, Benzene, Ethyl Acetate, Ethyl Ether, Ethylbenzene, Isobutyl Alcohol, o,m,p-Xylenes, Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Methyl Isobutyl Ketone, Methyl n-Butyl Ketone, Methyl tert-Butyl Ether, n-Heptane, n-Hexane, n-Propanol, Pentane, Styrene, and Toluene. The submitter's test also included testing for Volatiles (Ethanol, methanol, isopropanol and Acetone) in whole blood [LOINC: 74133-0].
