Definition

  • This test measures the free carnitine (C0) level in children who have been diagnosed with carnitine uptake defect and are on a therapeutic diet for their condition. Dried blood spot specimens are sent to the lab for monitoring tests periodically. The C0 level is used to monitor the patient's progress.
