  • The cause or condition which most likely began the series of events resulting in the death of the fetus. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the HL7 Implementation Guide for CDA Release 2: Birth and Fetal Death Report, to create a standard for the US Standard for Live Birth and US Standard Report of Fetal Death. This particular request relates to question #18 on the US Standard Report of Fetal Death.
