Definition

  • IgG in CSF is used to evaluate central nervous system (CNS) infections, neoplasms or primary neurologic diseases (ex: multiple sclerosis). CSF IgG is increased with increased blood-brain barrier permeability and/or local intrathecal IgG production. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the cobas Tina-quant IgG Gen.2 test kit.
