Titanium [Moles/volume] in Blood

Titanium Bld-sCnc

Definition

  • Titanium alloys are used in artificial joints, prosthetic devices, and implants. Titanium dioxide allows osseointegration between an artificial medical implant and bone. While monitoring titanium concentrations are not a measure of toxicity, measurements are useful for the early detection of titanium alloy implant wear, breakdown, or failure, as the patient's blood titanium metal ion concentrations are likely to elevate above the expected range.
