Instability rate [NMMDS]

Definition

  • The percent of nursing staff employed by job position at the beginning of the reporting period but who left the unit or service at the end of the period (i.e. instability rate). It is calculated by dividing the number of nursing staff at beginning by position leaving during the reporting period divided by the number of nursing staff by job position at the start of the period.
