Definition

  • The percent of CD11a positive cells is useful for diagnosis and tracking of treatment for Leukocyte adhesion deficiency (LAD), is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by immunodeficiency resulting in recurrent infections and impaired wound healing. Cells may be gated on lymphocytes, granulocytes or monocytes. Absence of CD11a expression is consistent with LAD type 1. Specimens may include blood, bone marrow, body fluid, or tissue.
