Dengue virus 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 RNA [Identifier] in Cerebral spinal fluid by NAA with probe detection

DENV 1+2+3+4 RNA CSF NAA+probe

Definition

  • This is a serotype-specific, fourplex real-time reverse transcriptase PCR nucleic acid detection assay and can be used as a method for differential diagnosis of a specific DEN serotype in viremic dengue patients and as a tool for rapid identification and serotyping of DEN virus isolates. [PMID: 16207951] CSF testing is indicated for suspected dengue encephalitis virus, which is very rare but can occur as a complication of infection by the virus.
