Definition

  • Indicates if a case meets the criteria for immediate (extremely urgent or urgent) notification to a reporting center. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Generic Individual Case Notification Message Mapping Guide for HL7 V2 messaging. To determine if the cases meets the requirements for notification, the guide currently (2015) refers to the 2013 list of NNC by type of notification category (extremely urgent, urgent, and standard) at the following link: http://wwwn.cdc.gov/nndss/document/NNC_2013_Notification_Requirements_By_Category.pdf
