National reporting jurisdiction
Definition
- The national jurisdiction reporting a case notification event. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Generic Individual Case Notification Message Mapping Guide for HL7 v2 messaging. The guide uses the two-digit (numeric) value for a State based on the FIPS5_2 coding system. For some territories, this value may not be the same as the State value (see PHINVADS value set for verification).
