Toscana virus IgG Ab [Presence] in Cerebral spinal fluid by Immunoassay

TOSV IgG CSF Ql IA

Definition

  • Because Toscana virus is a known etiologic agent of meningitis, meningoencephalitis, and encephalitis, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) may be tested. Specific antibodies for IgM are present during the acute phase of the Toscana Virus infection, while the presence of specific IgG antibodies in the absence of IgM indicates a previous infection. Cross reactions cannot be excluded with other correlated serotypes of Phlebovirus such as Sicily and Naples. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the submitter's Diesse ENZYWELL TOSCANA VIRUS IgG/IgM test kit..
