Platelet aggregation [Units/volume] in Blood by ristocetin induced High dose
PA Bld Rist hi dose-aCnc
Definition
- Assay for the quantitative in vitro determination of platelet function triggered by a high concentration of ristocetin. In the presence of ristocetin, platelets bind to von Willebrand Factor (VWF) by means of glycoprotein Ib (GPIb) receptors and triggers platelet activation and aggregation. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the Cobas RISTOtest, a quantitative in vitro assay using a high concentration of ristocetin (0.77 mg/mL) to stimulate strong platelet aggregation in whole blood samples by impedance aggregometry.
