Maternal pregnancy info

Definition

  • The maternal information section contains clinical history information about the labor and delivery (e.g. method of delivery, procedures, pregnancy outcome, maternal morbidity, medications, etc.), social history (e.g. alcoholic drinks per week) and nutritional status (e.g. nutrition assessment findings, special diet requirements and restrictions) from when the patient's mother was pregnant with patient. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the Mother Information section in the Michigan Birth Defect Registry Implementation Guide for Ambulatory Healthcare Provider Reporting to Central Birth Defect Registries, HL7 Clinical Document Architecture (CDA).
