Definition
- This test detects the rpoD gene found in species of Salmonella. This term was created for, but is not limited in use to, Nanosphere's Verigene Enteric Pathogens Nucleic Acid Test, which is intended for the detection and identification of common pathogenic enteric bacteria, viruses, and genetic virulence markers in stool specimens from individuals with signs and symptoms of gastrointestinal infection.
