- This term is used to report the summary result for the enteric pathogens panel in terms of which organism was detected. This term was created for, but is not limited in use to, Nanosphere's Verigene Enteric Pathogens Nucleic Acid Test, which is intended for the detection and identification of common pathogenic enteric bacteria, viruses, and genetic virulence markers in stool specimens from individuals with signs and symptoms of gastrointestinal infection.
