Definition
- Semi-quanitative analysis of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor IgG antibodies in serum to confirm the diagnosis of anti-NMDAR autoimmune encephalitis in conjunction with other laboratory and clinical findings. This test may also be used to monitor treatment response in individuals who are antibody positive. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the EUROIMMUN Anti-Glutamate receptor (type NMDA) IFA assay.
