Shigella species+EIEC invasion plasmid antigen H ipaH gene [Presence] in Stool by NAA with non-probe detection
Shigella sp+EIEC ipaH St NAA+non-probe
Definition
- This assay detects the invasion plasmid antigen H (ipaH) gene that is specific to Shigella species and enteroinvasive E. coli (EIEC) using PCR and melt curve analysis. The assay does not distinguish between Shigella and EIEC. This term was created for, but is not limited in use to, BioFire's FilmArray Gastrointestinal panel, which is intended for the detection and identification of nucleic acids from multiple bacteria, viruses, and parasites directly from stool samples from individuals with signs and/or symptoms of gastrointestinal infection.
