Cause of death record axis code [Automated]
Definition
- A computer generated set of ICD codes that best describe the person's cause of death (called "record axis codes") that are generated from the system-assigned entity axis codes by: a) eliminating duplicate codes, and b) combining codes into single more comprehensive codes where warranted. This term was created for the CDC HL7 Version 2.5 Implementation Guide: Reporting Death Information from the EHR to Vital Records, R1.2.
