Definition
- This term includes services, equipment, and/or products used by the patient. Services may include care performed by a trained therapist, such as physical or speech therapy. Equipment or products include items used by patients to alleviate or compensate for physical conditions or impairments, such as visual or hearing aids, wheelchairs, prostheses, incontinence diapers or anti-decubitus mattresses.
