Chromosome 17p13.1 deletion and 14q32 rearrangements in Bone marrow by FISH

Chr 17p13.1 Del + 14q32 Rearr Mar FISH

Definition

  • This tests detects 17p13.1 (TP53 gene) deletions and 14q32 rearrangements by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). Both genetic anomalies are associated with the development of multiple myeloma, a white blood cell cancer that affects plasma cells.
