Definition

  • Sulfate may be given as magnesium sulfate, zinc sulfate, and cupric sulfate in parenteral nutrition. Dietitians in this area of practice may calculate and document the total intake of sulfate from these sources, as measured in a study. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Nutrition Assessment Language.
