Definition
- This respiratory pathogens screen identifies respiratory viral and bacterial nucleic acids from patients suspected of having respiratory tract infections. The following virus and bacteria types and subtypes may be in the screen: influenza A (H3N2), influenza A (H1N1) pdm09, influenza A (H1N1), influenza A (H5N1), influenza A (H7N9), influenza A untypable, influenza B, adenovirus , coronavirus 229E, coronavirus OC43 , coronavirus NL63, coronavirus HKU1, MERS- CoV, enterovirus or rhinovirus, human metapneumovirus , HSV-1, HSV-2, parechovirus, parainfluenza 1, parainfluenza 2, parainfluenza 3, parainfluenza 4 , respiratory syncytial virus subtype A, respiratory syncytial virus subtype B, vericella zoster virus, bordetella pertussis, bordetella holmesii, and bordetella parapertussis.
