Gastrointestinal pathogens DNA and RNA panel - Stool by NAA with non-probe detection

GI path DNA+RNA Pnl Stl NAA+n-prb

Definition

  • This panel includes terms used to report the detection of various enteric pathogens in stool using PCR and non-probe-based detection methods, such as melt curve analysis. The targeted pathogens and detection rate may vary across test kits and for a single test kit over time. This panel was originally created for, but is not limited in use to, the FilmArray Gastrointestinal Panel (GI) (v2.1, 2015), which detects and identifies the following bacteria, parasites, and viruses: Campylobacter (C. jejuni/C. coli/C. upsaliensis), Clostridium difficile toxin A/B, Plesiomonas shigelloides, Salmonella, Vibrio (V. parahaemolyticus/V. vulnificus/V. cholerae), including specific identification of Vibrio cholerae, Yersinia enterocolitica, Enteroaggregative Escherichia coli (EAEC), Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC), Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) lt/st, Shiga-like toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) stx1/stx2, Escherichia coli O157, Shigella/Enteroinvasive Escherichia coli (EIEC), Cryptosporidium, Cyclospora cayetanensis, Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia, Adenovirus F 40/41, Astrovirus, Norovirus GI/GII, Rotavirus A, and Sapovirus (Genogroups I, II, IV, and V).
