Definition

  • Used to report results for various cytokines, including Interferon gamma (IFN-gamma), Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta), Interleukin-10 (IL-10), Interleukin-12 (IL-12), Interleukin-13 (IL-13), Interleukin-2 (IL-2), Interleukin-2 Receptor (IL-2R), Interleukin-4 (IL-4), Interleukin-5 (IL-5), Interleukin-6 (IL-6), Interleukin-8 (IL-8), Interleukin-17A (IL-17A), and Tumor Necrosis Factor alpha (TNF alpha). The cytokines or other immunoactive molecules included in the panel may vary across labs and within a lab over time. Those selected may also be based on the individual condition(s) being studied. Results are used to understand the pathophysiology of immune, infectious, or inflammatory disorders, or may be used for research purposes.
