Oligosaccharides pattern [Interpretation] in Leukocytes by Screen method Narrative

Oligosaccharide Pattern WBC Scn-Imp

Definition

  • Oligosaccharidoses are a group of autosomal recessively inherited lysosomal disorders of glycoprotein catabolism. There is no treatment available at this time for these disorders. This assay tests for the activities of alpha-neuraminidase, alpha-mannosidase, beta-mannosidase, alpha-n-acetyl-galactosaminidase, beta-galactosidase, and alpha-fucosidase, and results are reported as an overall interpretation based on the pattern of activity that is found.
