Definition
- This term is used to report whether the respondent has engaged in injection drug use (IDU) in the past year. IDU includes intravenous drug use (IVDU), which is the most common, as well as subcutaneous and intramuscular injection. This term was created for, but is not limited in use to, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sexually transmitted diseases case reporting and surveillance.
