Definition

  • The number of staff (employees on facility payroll) who received an influenza vaccination at a healthcare facility since influenza vaccine became available within an influenza season. Those who receive an influenza vaccination at the healthcare facility typically do not need to provide documentation for receiving the vaccine. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) surveillance for healthcare personnel vaccinations.
