Definition

  • This collection contains patient data elements gathered to inform the refinement of trauma management guidelines and protocols and improve patient outcomes. Data elements may include the patient's highest total Glasgow Coma Score (GCS), initial pupillary response, cerebral monitor information, transfusion measurements, cryoprecipitate measurements, lowest blood pressure measurement, angiography information, hemorrhage control surgery information, and withdrawal of life support treatment information. The information is typically collected and transmitted by centers participating in trauma quality improvement programs (TQIP). This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the Measures for Process of Care (PM) section in the National Trauma Data Standard (NTDS) Data Dictionary.
