Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation risk score EBMT
HSCT risk score EBMT
Definition
- This term represents the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) cumulative hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) risk score based on the following factors: the age of the patient, the stage of disease, the time from diagnosis, the donor type, and the donor recipient gender combination. The scores for the individual factors are added together and the total is used to determine an overall likelihood of success of an HSCT. Patients who have an elevated score are less likely to have positive outcomes after transplantation. The EBMT score remains valid for all acquired hematological disorders, for allogeneic and autologous HSCT (score 0-5), and is not affected by the HSCT technology or by standard or reduced intensity conditioning.[PMID: 21643021]
