Definition

  • Veterinary toxicology testing may include analysis of thousands of chemicals, including organochlorines, organophosphates, carbamates, aliphatic hydrocarbons, industrial pollutants, disinfectants, antioxidants, miscellaneous pesticides, polycyclic aromatics, alkyl benzenes, some natural products, vitamins, plant and fungal toxins and some drugs. This panel contains quantitative LOINC terms for the more commonly reported substances, but it is not an exhaustive list. It also contains three generic terms to report the detection [LOINC:88865-1] and quantity in MCnt [LOINC: 88866-9] or in MCnc [LOINC: 88867-7] of a substance that does not have a specific LOINC code assigned. [LOINC: 88869-3] is the corresponding panel for qualitative veterinary toxicology reporting.
